KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): Firefly Sdn Bhd, the country's premium short-haul airline, has entered into a codeshare partnership with Malaysia Airlines Bhd for three destinations from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Effective Dec 22, 2015, Firefly will allow customers to book Malaysia Airlines flights from KLIA to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Penang via any Firefly ticket booking platforms.

"Together with Malaysia Airlines, we at Firefly are ecstatic to be able to provide customers with more travel options," Firefly chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said in a statement today.

"We have no doubts that the offering of the ability to book flights to East Malaysia will be a boon to our loyal customers," he added.

Ong said with the launch of these initial three routes, Firefly will gradually increase the number of codeshare routes with Malaysia Airlaines in 2016.

"In the coming weeks, Firefly is excited to be able to offer even more route options with Malaysia Airlines," added Ong.

Tickets are available for sale through all travel agents, Firefly website and booking offices.
